About KIBO
1. The Importance of Japanese as a Heritage Language Education
Japanese language education as a heritage language differs from the national language education in Japan. Many children living abroad face the challenge of "knowing something in the local language but not knowing how to express it in Japanese." At KIBO, our instructors, who have experience teaching both in Japan and abroad, understand these challenges and provide thoughtful guidance.

Welcome to KIBO
KIBO was born from the shared aspirations of Japanese parents living in the multicultural city of Montreal, Canada.
"How can we help children growing up abroad naturally embrace Japanese language and culture as part of their identity?"
In seeking answers to this question, we arrived at the idea of creating a "special learning environment" tailored to children learning Japanese as a heritage language.
Our commitment to providing the most effective language-learning methods ensures your journey to mastering Japanese is both efficient and enjoyable.

2. Supporting Identity Development
Our goal is to help children naturally embrace their Japanese roots and nurture them as an important part of their identity.

3. Unique Experiences of Japanese Culture
We actively incorporate Japanese seasonal traditions and cultural practices into our lesson materials. Through this approach, we offer special experiences that allow students to connect with the spirit, language, and culture of Japan, even while living overseas.
